A compact group of four ruinous buildings and an enclosure is situated in the N corner of a large field, to the N of the present Ormsaigmore farmhouse. The site occupies a gentle slope, overlooking Kilchoan Bay and the Sound of Mull. The two northwesterly houses are threatened by tree growth.

The four single-compartment buildings are arranged more or less in a NW-SE row and all appear to be round-angled rectangular in plan. The northwesterly house, Site 1, 9m NE-SW by 5.50m, consists of piled-up rubble walls, which have spread to 2.50m in width and 0.50m high. 6m to the SE is another house, Site 2, 9m NE-SW by 4.50m, consisting of piled-up rubble walls, 1m thick and 0.40m high. 2m further SE is a larger house, 11m NW-SE by 5m, consisting of overgrown walls 1.20m thick and 0.35m high, flanked by upright slabs along the outer edge of the SW side and with an entrance in the NE side marked by a large boulder. An enclosure, 34m NW-SE by 21m, containing some rig and furrow, adjoins the SW side. The fourth structure, 8m NE-SW by 5m and consisting of overgrown rubble walls, lies 5m eastwards,

The NMRS suggests that this is a separate site from Ormsaigmore township (SMR NM46SE0025) and presumably a precursor of the present Ormsaigmore farm. However both sites are situated within the same field, only c. 70m apart and the OS 1st Ed 6” Map suggests that they are both part of Ormsaigmore township. Further documentary research may elucidate the relationship. Extensive remains of cultivation and walled enclosures, covering a total area of c. 600m NW-SE by c. 250m may be part of either site. These include the unenclosed rig and furrow and large enclosure, 70m NE-SW by 32m, to the SW of the site, as well as the extensive rig and furrow in the large field to the NW (containing Greadal Fhinn chambered cairn SMR NM46SE0001) and another walled enclosure to the NW recorded in 1875.
