Full Description

NB91SE 23 9674 1422

This cist, possibly a long cist, was revealed by the demolition of part of a croft-wall at Reiff and had been emptied prior to the date of survey. It sits on a slight rise overlooking the sea and measures 1.6m from ENE to WSW by 0.75m transversely within rock-cut sides, which have been excavated to a depth of 0.5m. A report by a crofter that artefacts had been recovered, drew a blank on further inquiry.
