Caisteal Morar na Shein (NR) (site of)
OS 6" map, (1963)
A castle, or hunting lodge, situated at N end of Loch More at point where River Thurso issues from it, was said to be stronghold of Morar-na-Shean, or Reginald Chen (or Cheyne), a lord who acquired lands in S Caithness after 1340.
It was said to be in ruins about 1769 (Pennant 1774) and Morrison (1883) called it a 'Pictish tower of considerable strength'.
