Full Description

(a) 0.6m x 0.9m, with hole, 0.13m x 0.12m deep.
(b) 0.6m x 0.4m x 0.25m, with groove, 0.06m deep.
Both these stones might derive from an old quarry, used to provide granite for houses in Aviemore, but now destroyed by a road.
To find the stones: from lay-by 131, on A9 southbound, walk 60m along a fence running at 278 degrees grid from the roadside fence. The stones are 90m along a 'green valley' running at 175 degrees grid from the fence and lie behind a prominent boulder on a ridge.
See sketch in Ass. Docs.
