Full Description

A corn drying kiln, possibly associated with the croft of Lyne Eickan (NJ01SW0038).
Information from Ann Wakeling, 8/12/99

A kiln noted during a walkover survey by C Dagg in 2007 in advance of a woodland creation scheme. This was not a typical kiln building, nor was it adjacent to any barns. On the contrary it was in a relatively isolated location and was dug into the hill slope. It may have been mis-interpreted as a corn kiln and may in fact have been a limekiln. <1>
