Monument record MHG25433 - WW2 Defences, Scrabster Castle

Concrete blocks on beach edge on both sides of the castle. At least one had the date 1940 in the cement. The pill box is built on top of the castle promontory of brick and concrete. From the east it seems to be bedded on at least three large rounded stones. The soil beneath these is now eroding away and they are becoming loose. Once these collapse it is likely that the weiight of the pillbox will cause it to collapse onto the beach as well. - HAW 9/2002

A brick built pillbox with concrete roof is situated within the remains of Scrabster Castle (see ND16NW 3). To the E, along a small pebble beach is a single line of anti-tank blocks.
