The steamship PRINCE RUPERT CITY was bombed and sunk by German aircraft. Source; World War II Shipping Loses.
The wreck's position is given as 58 46 00N, 004 41 00W, approximately. Source; Sea Breezes May 1980.
Surveying Details

1941. The wreck's position is given as bering 035 degrees and 5 miles from Cape Wrath or 58 41 38N, 004 54 27W approximately.
17 August 1982. A large wreck, standing 10 metres high in a general depth of 74 metres, was located at decca (n. scottish) red i 22.8, green a 36.1, purple d 50.06.

11 May 1984. The site was examined on 19 March 1984 in 58 46 03N, 004 47 01W using West Orkney hyperfix- patts 3-1, 5-1 6-4. This gave NGR eastings 239040, northings 989940. The least echosounder depth was 71 in a general depth of 79 metres. No scouring was observed. The side scan sonar indicated a height of 8 metrws, length of 120 metres (393 feet), and width of 15 metres (49 feet). The vessel is lying with its keel orientated 112/293 degrees, and is apparently intact. It has a central superstructure with two hatches forward and aft. It probably lies on its starboard side.
