Stroma Lighthouse [NAT]
OS 1:10,000 map, 1987.
Stroma lighthouse was built in 1895-6 by David A Stevenson (as one of a number constructed in northern waters) and replaced a previous minor light (which dated from 1890); it was equipped with a Benson-Lee kerosene lamp. The lighthouse was attacked by German aircraft in 1941 and electrified in 1972.
R W Munro 1979.
