Full Description

On a terrace on the W slope of Meall an Fheadain there is an earthen bank, which may have formed a stock enclosure around a small area of rough pasture. A 100m length of bank extends from NNE to SSW along the edge of a terrace with traces of a return at the N end. No trace of a rectangular structure depicted in this area on the current edition of the OS 1:10560 map (1970) was found at the date of survey, but it may have been a wire-fenced enclosure. Morrison's survey of 1775 depicts an irregular area called 'Arievullich' to the ESE of Loch a' Mheallain which is labelled 'A Shealing' (SRO, E746/189).
