Full Description

NG36SE 12 centred on 391 647

A township and a field-system are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire, Island of Skye 1880, sheet vi). The township has two areas of habitation; that to the E (NG 397 647) comprises five unroofed buildings, two of which are T-shaped, and that to the W (NG 385 644) comprises two unroofed buildings. The township is defined by parts of a head-dyke which run to the N, W and S, and by the River Rha to the SE. A field-system covers the majority of the area within the boundaries of the township.
The township, the field-system and the head-dyke are also shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10560 map (1968). Only the two unroofed buildings to the W are depicted
