Steamer PENTLAND FIRTH, of Newcastle, master William McKenzie. Enroute from Middlesburgh to Dublin. Lost 11 Apr 1932, 3.30am at Scrabster Roadstead, 1/2 mile east of Scrabster Pier, 1 mile from Holburn Head Lighthouse. Weather Northerly gale, heavy sea, dense with showers. Cable broke while vessel riding at anchor. 10 persons saved. Cargo of phosphates.
