Full Description
NC00NW 3.01 0283 0693
Set into the seaward side of the pebble bar between Loch Poll an Dunain and the sea shore, and 40m WSW of the broch (NC00NW 3.00), there is a row of five kilns set in a shallow arc 25.5m long, surviving as grassed-over depressions open to the SSE. The best-preserved bowl measures 1m in diameter within the remains of stone inner-face, and 0.25m in depth, but the others appear to have been considerably larger. These kilns are noticeably less formally arranged and more widely spaced than the group to the E of the broch (NC00NW 3.02).
