Full Description

In flat boggy ground, in an area of peat cutting 100m WNW of Achlochan House, there is a group of at least three turf-walled huts each standing on a low heather-covered mound. Oval or subrectangular on plan, the huts range in length from 5.3m to 7.2m and in breadth from 2.2m to 3.5m within walls up to 0.9m thick which stand no more than 0.2m high. There are at least four other slight mounds or platforms in this area, but these may be no more than waste from peat cutting.
