A pillbox is set within the footings of a stone building, one corner of which still stands to five courses, 50m to the N of the A839 public road at the point where it comes closest to the railway, known as Lairg Summit.
The pillbox has five openings and is probably a type 24 version with thick walls. The interior still retains the firing shelf and has been used as an animal shelter.
