Full Description

( a ) NJ 0032 1114 An indistinct structure, possibly a shieling hut.
( b ) NJ 0034 1115 A substantial structure, 12m x 5m.
( c ) NJ 0027 1110 A shieling hut, 8.5m x 3.5m.
This site is referred to by Forsyth (1900, 31), as a shieling, although the story he tells implies that it was occupied more permanently.

What may be a farmstead, comprising two unroofed buildings, one of which has a length of field-wall attached, is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire 1875, sheet lxxiv), but it is not shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10,000 map (1971).
