Full Description
Centred at NH 552 180 is a field system marked by stone clearance heaps, stone walls, and a few lynchets, and three widely spaced circular stone-walled huts (A -C) The field system has been overlaid in the W by a depop enclosure with contemporary cultivation.
Hut 'A', at NH 5502 1796, set into a SW-facing slope, is exceptionally well preserved. It measures 8.5m in diameter within a wall 1.5m thick, with the inner face in the NE, partly of blocks on edge and partly dry walling to two courses, revetting the back scarp. The entrance is in the SSW.
'B', at NH 5506 1815, survives as a platform c. 12.0m in diameter with few traces of the wall which has evidently been robbed to built the depop wall which crosses the hut.
'C', at NH 5526 1806, measures 11.5m overall diam- eter with much of the outer face visible, but none of the inner face. The wall is spread to 2.0m, with an entrance gap in the E.
