Iron steamship, DUNVEGAN CASTLE, ran ashore on Dunvegan Point, wind NW 12, on 21 October 1874, departed Tarbert for Glasgow, general cargo and six passengers. 'Highlander' newspaper of 11 September 1875 reports the wreck has been removed.
