Full Description

The remains of a small structure occupying the side of a heathery knoll and a pen , were noted during a pre-afforestation survey by J Wordsworth (NMRS MS 961/12, no.12). The enclosure measures 4m from N tto S by 3m with a short stretch of walling on the NE sugesting a secondary fold. The interior is boggy. A grassy knoll to the NE may be the remains of a turf-walled structure. Built against a boulder, some 32m to the NE, there is a small pen measuring 2m in diameter. Grassy mounds to the S may represent decayed shieling-huts.
