NC70NW 4.02 7030 0642

This oval burnt mound, situated on the W bank of the Torbreck Burn, immediately N of the township head-dyke (NC70NW 4.01), measures 6.9m from E to W by 5m transversely and 0.9m in height, with a slight indentation in the S side of the mound. Lifting a sod revealed cracked stone and charcoal set in a matrix of black soil. A mound to the S is of natural origin.
