Full Description
NC70NW 79 7382 0522
The grass-grown footings of two rectangular buildings, both aligned from E to W, are situated within an earth-and-stone banked sub-square enclosure in the rough ground to the N of Glenelg. The S building (ROG95 269), which has been extensively robbed, is largely defined by a robber trench, and may have been slightly longer than the building to the N. The second building is of two-compartments (ROG95 270) and measures 11.4m by 2.9m within faced-rubble footings 0.8m in thickness and 0.3m in height. There is an entrance in the S side and a subrectangular platform, possibly a stack-stand, overlies part of the interior. The stumps of wooden fence posts survive along the crest of the enclosure bank.
