Full Description
NC70NW 82 7208 0542
This farmstead comprises four buildings ranged around a yard, all of which are depicted as roofed on the 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1907. sheet xcvi). On the E side of the yard a two-storey, mortared-rubble dwelling (ROG95 151) with windows and fireplaces survives as a roofless shell. To the N and W there are a roofless byre (ROG95 150) and shed (ROG95 149), with a collapsing tin roof) respectively, while the roofless building to the S may have been a further dwelling (ROG95 148), with a fireplace and a single window. The 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1879, sheet xcvi) depicts the main dwelling as roofed, with two smaller structures to the ESE, of which no traces now remain.
