Full Description
Six hut-circles (ROG95 46-9, 84-5) and a group of small cairns (ROG95 935) are disposed across a series of terraces on the heather- and grass-covered SE flank of Cnoc an Uachdair.
Four of the hut-circles (ROG95 47-9, 85) measure between 6.2m (ROG95 47) and 8.5m in diameter (ROG95 85) within stony banks spread up to 2.2m in thickness and 0.4m in height; the entrances lie in the ESE to S arc. A subrectangular hut overlies the bank of one hut-circle (ROG95 85). The remaining two hut-circles are larger, measuring 10.2m (ROG95 46) and 10.4m (ROG95 84) in diameter internally. One (ROG95 46) is in use as a base for a feeder bin and the interior is very disturbed. A hollow, probably indicating the site of a souterrain, opens out from the interior in the ESE arc of the bank; it extends down a slight slope for 11m to WNW and measures 4m across by up to 0.6m in depth.
The small cairns (ROG95 935), which measure up to 4m in diameter and 0.4m in height, are scattered across the spine of the ridge on both sides of the public road.
