Full Description

One building still visible from road (see photo). Roofed, but the gable wall at road end is now gone - HAW 9/2004

NC70NW 99 7383 0618
This farmstead comprises two buildings, both are depicted as roofed on 1st and 2nd editions OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1879, 1907, sheet xcvi). The S building, which has been a dwelling, is still partially roofed, while second building (ROG95 283) has been reduced to footings. Fragmentary remains of a garden enclosure to S of dwelling correspond to depiction on 1st and 2nd edition maps.
To SW of farmstead a hut (ROG95 284), measuring 4m by 1.8m internally, lies on W side of a collapsed stone wall. The relationship between hut and wall is unclear and, while wall is depicted on 1st and 2nd edition map, hut is not.
(ROG95 283-4) Visited by RCAHMS (DCC) 10 May 1995
