Full Description

NC70SW 86 7251 0434

A two-phase hut-circle and a scatter of small cairns are situated on a terrace in an improved field on the S side of the valley of the Garbh-allt. The hut-circle (ROG95 168, NC 7251 0434) measures 8.5m from N to S by 7.9m transversely within a stony bank spread to 1.8m in thickness and 0.4m in height. No entrance is visible. In the interior a second hut-circle, measuring 5.4m in diameter, has been constructed against the N wall of the hut-circle.
About thirty small cairns, measuring up to 6m in diameter and 0.4m in height, are scattered over the gentle slope to the N in an area of improved ground. The N part of the area is crossed by earth-and-stone banks associated with later farmsteads (NC70SW 151) and at least one cairn is overlain by a bank.
