Full Description

NC60NE 40 6657 0826 and 6670 0819

On the SE-facing slope of the broad ridge of Cnoc Achadh na Teanga, about 600m from the summit, there is a hut-circle which has a later subrectangular hut built within it. There are the remains of an enclosure to the SE and to the ESE a circular stone setting may be a cairn. About 140m farther down the ridge to the ESE there is a second hut.
The hut-circle (ROG95 460), at the NGR given above, measures 9.9m in diameter within a bank 1.6m thick and 0.4m high which has been faced inside and out with edge-set stones. In its SW quadrant there is a hut measuring 4.8m NW-SE by 2.4m transversely within a stony bank 0.5m thick; both the hut and the hut-circle have an entrance on the SW. The remains of an oval enclosure, defined by a 'dog-tooth' bank of edge-set stones, extends about 40m to the SE.
The possible cairn is situated about 20m to the ESE of the hut-circle at NC 6658 0825, in a situation which offers an open outlook in all directions except the WNW, where the ground rises. It consists of an unbroken ring of edge-set stones 3.5m in diameter, each stone up to 1m long and 0.4m high (ROG95 461).
The second hut is located farther down the ridge at NC 6670 0819. It is circular, measuring 2.6m in diameter within a stony bank 1m thick and 0.5m high. The entrance is on the ENE, with a boulder to either side (ROG95 456).
