The former school at Laggan Lia is depicted as roofed on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire 1873, sheet lxxxviii), and is noted in the OS Name Book as ' a school situated at Lagganlia, it is one storey high, slated, and in good repair, the course of education taught consists of the ordinary branches, together with Latin and Mathematics, the average attendance is about 60 and it is supported by subscription and school fees' (ONB 1869). The current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1972) shows this building annotated Laggan Lia, which on the 1st edition (ibid) is a house a 100m to the SE (NH80SE 13) .
