Full Description

ND12SW 67 centred on 1030 2188

An area of agricultural remains, comprising the remains of an enclosure, a wall and three small cairns on the W-facing slope above an unnamed burn, was recorded by Headland Archaeology (NMRS MS 899/93, no.6) during a pre-afforestation survey.
The enclosure (NMRS MS 899/93, no.6b), which is built of turf and orthostats, is situated at ND 1030 2188. In the area to the W and SW there are three clearance cairns (NMRS MS 899/93, no.6a) which each measure about 1m in diameter by up to 0.4m high, beyond which there is a short stretch of boulder-built drystone wall.
