An early trigonometric point or bench mark, comprising a small bronze pin (8mm in diameter) hammered into the top of a boulder measuring 1m by 0.7m by 0.8m high, was recorded by Headland Archaeology (NMRS MS 899/93, no.10). The boulder lies to the N of the A9
