There are five subrectangular shieling-huts by the side of an unnamed burn about 1km SW of the summit of Carn Dearg; below the huts the burn falls over the steep headwall of Corrie Nan Laogh to Loch Dubh, which is about 300m to the SE. The huts measure between 2.6m and 5.3m in length and between 1.8m and 2.5m in breadth within walls generally reduced to stony banks up to 0.8m thick and 0.5m high. A group of huts, annotated 'Bothies of Clun', is depicted here on George Brown's 1771 map of the Gordon Estates N of the River Spey (SRO RHP 1835).
