St. Mary's Chapel (NR) (Site of)
OS 6"map, Inverness-shire, 2nd ed., (1907)
"St Mary's Chapel (site of)...No remains of this chapel at present exist, but its site is carefully preserved from the plough. It is said to have been dedicated to the Virgin; and though built before the Reformation, the exact date cannot be obtained.
About 25 years ago the proprietor made excavations, and disclosed the foundations of the building, besides turning up a quantity of human bones."
Name Book 1868.
On Chapelton the foundations of a chapel were visible until 1897.
ISSFC 1898.
The site of the chapel is on a low knoll and is now under the plough; no traces exist.
