Centred 787 268.
Centred at NH 7887 2673 at about 1500 ft. OD on the partly juniper clad, S - facing slopes of Tom na Moine is a settlement of three oval stone walled huts (A-C), a well-preserved contemporary field system and a probably contemporary cairn.
Hut A is on a shelf and measures 9.5m E-W by 8.5m transversely between the centres of a denuded wall spread to about 2.5m. The entrance is not evident.
Hut B measures 11.5m NW-SE by 10.5m transversely between the centres of a wall spread to about 3.5m. The SE arc is denuded and the entrance is not evident.
Hut C measures 12.5m WNW-ESE by 10.0m transversely between the centres of a wall spread to about 3.0m all round. the denuded entrance is in the ESE.
The cairn at NH 7863 2681 near the N edge of the field system is situated on a false crest and can be seen from all three huts. Nine intermittent kerb-stones can be seen round the perimeter and it measures 6.4m in diameter and is 0.5m high. Exposed in the centre is an open cist, oriented E-W, formed of four slabs on edge and measuring internally 1.2m E-W by 0.6m in the W narrowing to 0.5m in the E, and 0.5m deep. There is no sign of a capstone. The field system is marked by stone clearance heaps and lynchets with well-defined fields, three of which measure 60.0m x 15.0m, 30.0m x 20.0m and 10.0m x 10.0m.
