Full Description

NN 6185 9485

Clearance cairns survive in the field to the east of the burn that separates the manse to and glebe from Gaskbeg Farm. They survive as low mounds up to lm high by 3m diameter covering an area c 150m square. They are thought to be the remains of afield system contemporary with the roundhouse sites.
To the E of these cairns are faint lines of stone and earthen banks aligned NW/SE. These probably represent the remains of a medieval-post-medieval field system.
