Full Description

NG 3408 5086 (centred on)
Small circular structures; Hay drying platforms
Close to the NE edge of the site on an area of flat ground are the remnants of at least four circular structures and possibly five. The are very similar in size and form with an external diameter of 2.9 - 3.0 m. Stones can be seen protruding from the ground forming an overall circular shape. The remains were not upstanding to any extent and there was no hollow in the centre nor distinct outer wall. Basically, these were small stony platforms with three or four positioned within 3.0 m of each other in a tightly knit group. The local landowner explained that they were used as bases on which hay was stored to dry and were in use until a generation or two ago .AOC
