Full Description

There was a sea-well near the Church of Petty, the water of which was regarded as a special remedy for 'Whooping - cough' as well as other diseases.
A Fraser 1878.

The well is situated at NH 7387 4978 ('Fuaran a Mhinisteir' on 6" map) at the base of a bank. Although washed by the tide it is almost dried-up and no longer in use. There are no structural remains.
Visited by OS (E G C) 26 April 1962.
