Monument record MHG29360 - Possible Site of Burial cairn, Garblies Farm

The information relating to these findings have been recorded by James Kenworthy in a report on the archaeological resistivity survey of proposed house sites, Garblies Farm, Auldern.

1) This area of high resistivity may indicate the location of the remains of an Early Bronze Age Cairn.
2) This feature is described as two or three pit-like features which might be considered as candidates for Early Bronze Age Burials.
3) Similar to the above, a possible burial pit.

5) A positive linear feature, 2-3m wide and runs across the site from ENE to WSW.
6) A complex of narrow linear positive features.
7) Possibly a wall or bank - an area of deep negative anomilies.
8)A high anomaly projecting into the field from the NW, most likely to be a cairn set on the edge of a scarp.
9) A linear negative anomaly - may not be natural.
10) A majour bank or wall which might be part of an octagonal structure.
11) A linear negative feature - possibly an artificial ditch.
12) A mound of some sort - possibly a burial. <1>

Area to N of road at this GR stripped in advance of house being built, watching brief by Farrell 4/2003. V little revealed except the odd post hole. No obvious burial cairn or other burials in the area - HAW 5/2003
