Full Description
Sheep shelter marked on 1st ed OS, 2 structures joined by wall. - HAW 8/2003
Enclosures: there are two very visible semi-circular drystone walls, 1.5m in height. The semi-circles are not closed off to form enclosures and it is possible that they were sheep shelters, providing a degree of protection whatever the weather.

The site was visited and photographed by D Glass in April 2013. He described the site as:
"The structure consists of 2 walled nclosures connected by a straight wall 5 metres long. Each enclosure consists of two thirds of a circle 13 metres inside diameter with one third left open. The long axis of the structure is aligned north – south. The walls stand 1.5 metres high and are of drystone construction with a flat coping. The structure is intact and is in good condition.
The design would have provided shelter from all wind directions while avoiding the creation of acute angled corners into which sheep might cram." <2>
