Full Description

Possible underground tunnel found while clearing windblown trees in 1953 by George Murry. He recollects that it was made of small stones in an arch about 4 ft high and 3 ft wide, and extended about 15 yards before being blocked off by fallen material.

It has been suggested by J Wood that it may be an elaborate stone-lined drain.
See assoc. docs. File.

J Aitken : 03/03/01.
