Full Description
Sputie Quarry was worked during the 19th century to provide sandstone for housing in the local vicinity.
Mentioned in the 1st Statistical Account for Clyne.
Information from J Aitken, NOSAS, 21/05/01
Located in an area of numerous steep undulations is a larger depression containing one rock face a lots of small stones. Also in the vicinity are small areas possibly dug into undulations. No clear quarry but slump and smaller quarrying activity may be masking any definition. <1>
