Full Description

An Air-Raid Shelter constructed in a back garden. A newspaper article, dated 16 Sept 1939 tells of how it was made by school children. It was their own scheme and design and they hoped to accommodate 20 children. They excavated earth to form the main shelter area underground and used the floor of a tent as the roof.
