Full Description

Part of enclosure (bisected by estate boundary), drystone built. Forms the eastern portion of a complex of ruinous structures, marked on current OS map, and area marked as 'sheepfold'on OS 1st edition.
The sirte is located on, and partly encloses, a gentle rise in a landscape of rough pasture, used for grazing sheep. Although the site is bisected by the boundary fence, the management of the adjacent landscape appears to be broadly similar. The site is covered in bracken, although it hasn't spread to the lower slopes around the site.
Information from Dorothy Rankin, 17 Nov 1997.
Archaeological Management Plan, AOC. (Ref 3).
