Full Description

A red brick shed measuring 4m by 2m is aligned N/S on a small knoll overlooking Loch Shiel. There is an entrance at the N and iron stanchions in the floor to support some piece of machinery. The shed is unroofed but the brickwork is stable. The bricks are stamped 'STEPEND'. Two concrete posts 150mm thick by 0.5m high (one has been dislodged) lies to the SE. Old timber posts lie 30m to the SE.
Staff at the NTS Visitor Centre suggested it was a Gun Emplacement used in the last war. However it is more likely that it was used as a radio post.
