Full Description

Remains of a road to Dunan are clearly visible as a boundary bank where it crosses the stone dyke. The road is clearly earlier than the dyke, which cuts across it without a break.

However the grid reference given is inaccurate - the crossing is more to the south-east of the point where the present path (also on the line shown on the 1st ed OS 6" map) goes through the dyke gap. This needs to be rechecked in the field.

JW visited in the company of S. Birch, M. Wildgoose and M.Carmichael 30/5/02.
