Full Description

The indeterminate remains originally reported by Mountford in 1979 have been confirmed by Bob Gourlay (Regional Archaeologist) to be the same site reported by Kirby in 1983 and visited by RCAHMS in 1988.
RCAHMS (CAA) 6 November 1991.

This well-preserved cairn measures c.14m in diameter and 2.3m in height; some large kerbstones are visible on the SW arc.
Visited by RCAHMS (JNGR) April 1988.

On a prominent knoll commanding extensive views along Loch Sunart, is a substantial round cairn approximately 12m diameter by 1.8m high.

'A central mound of stones (c. 20ft diameter and 5ft high) surrounded by an earthen ditch and rampart. This strategic location commands an extensive view along the loch and across the surrounding upland.' Information contained in letter from F M Mountford to RCAHMS, 1979.
