Full Description
Burial Ground depicted on the OS 1st edition map. <1>
The burial ground at Achanalt was visited during the Highland Kirkyards project, run by Highland Buildings Preservation Trust. Rural graveyard in Achanalt, it is more recent than the older graveyard, MHG50756, on the hill above. There are no redundant or in use structures within the graveyard, although there is a church structure, now a house, over the road. There are two rectangular walled parts at right angles to each other. The furthest east has 19th and 20th century gravestones, whilst the western section has only a few gravestones from the last twenty years. Graves in both sections face east and are all upright stones. <2><3>
