Full Description

Hut-circle.
Centre of N-opening semi-circular structure, which could be the remains of a hut circle, set on a prominent N-S-trending ridge of glacial moraine, between the existing access track 10m to the W and the old track to the E. The walls are generally 2m thick, but are spread to 3m on its built up, SW side, are up to 0.8m high internally and 1.5m high externally, and there is stone visible in its construction. The central area is covered with grass and bracken and the walls have a thick bracken covering. The open, N side faces onto a loose, cobble-covered surface, sloping moderately W above the small borrow pit of Feature 061 (below) on the E side of the new track.

It is possible that the ‘walls’ of this structure have been created as spoil mounds during the construction of either of the tracks. <1>
