Full Description

Three roofed structures and a garden enclosure are shown at this location on the OS first edition map sheet of c. 1870. Two further houses lie immediately to the east. The area is annotated 'Croftacharn'. One house and an outbuilding are shown on the current Landmark mapping. The house, called Croftnacarn Cottage, was the subject of a Planning Application that required a Photographic Record. The house was extensively remodelled in the 1980s and little of the oridginal fabric of the building is visible in the photographs. Photographs and information supplied by M Ireland of Lochgarten Lodges (photos in Assoc Docs).

(See also NH91NE0039 for another complex of structures depicted on the OS first edition lying a short distance to the east)
