Full Description

Tattie Pits.
SE end of prominent 75m long, 5m high, whale-back shaped, heather-covered moraine ridge, trending 310 degrees, on the NE bank of Allt a’Bhreac-achaidh, into which a series of 8 ‘tattie’ pits, 0.3-0.4m deep and up to 2m diameter, has been dug into its crest (see Plate 19). The NW end of ridge is 2m to the SE of the existing track and the nearest ‘tattie’ pit is 25m from the track’s SE edge. <1>
