Full Description

Corn-Drying Kiln Remains.
Grass-covered, stone and turf-walled corn-drying kiln (see Plates 21 & 22), measuring 8m x 4m, with typical semi-circular upper, N end, forms a prominent structure set on a gently S-sloping, grassy meadow, 6m to the S of the existing access track, below the derelict house of Feature 165 (below) at Breac-achadh. Its walls are spread to 1m wide and are 0.5m high, its long sides trend 012 degrees and the rectangular, lower end contains a boulder tumble. The bowl is 0.4m deep, and a small pit has been cut into this upper, N rounded end and the whole structure is completely covered in grass. <1>
