Full Description
Sheiling Remains.
Centre of small, oval shieling, measuring 2.6m x 1.8m internally, with its long axis trending 170 degrees downhill, and a possible 0.3m wide entrance in the W (see Plate 29). Its interior is dug 0.3m below the surrounding ground surface level, and the edges of the rim are lined with several flattish stones on their sides, vertically aligned in an array pointing towards the centre of the structure.
The shieling is set in a small, sheltered, dry valley, to the E of a nearby, larger valley with a burn which is a tributary of Ristocky Burn, and is 12m N of the prominent turf bank head dyke of Feature 184 (above). <1>
