Full Description

A mound was identified in November 2001 during a survey for Scottish Woodlands close to Lochan Dubh. The mound lies on the north bank of a stream running from Lochan Dubh to Loch Bad an t-Sean-tighe. The mound had been cut ino by the stream, exposing a quantity of stones. The upper layers were exposed by a sheep scrape and were seen to be blackened with charcoal flecking. The mound measures 9m east to west by 6m north to south and was roughly kidney-shaped in plan. A large boulder lies immediately to the west of the mound.
